Another water song for you!
Honramos las aguas (Honour the water)I wrote this song by an incredible 500 metre waterfall, sitting near the top where the water poured down and looking out across this stunning view of this wild valley in Mexico. The sense of the invisible guardians and spirits of this place were so strong, and I began to sing this song of honouring the spirits and waters of this place and open myself to the mysterious forces of enchantment around me. It was a very special moment and it's truly an honour to share this song in it's recorded form with you.
As I walk my prayer path of following my ancestral threads of my lineage I begin to find an even deeper connection and meaning for me with singing and writing songs in the Spanish language. As far as my family can trace, the whole ancestral tree behind my grandfather (on my paternal side) were Spanish speaking people. Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Chile, Spain.
Today with this song I also want to honour the waters of my bloodline, singing in the same tongue that so many of them spoke. It feels something so powerful and touching to awaken this language in my own body and to experience the power of the prayer that I can connect to through this language. The expression I find with Spanish is so totally unique, like it's another part of my being can sing through.
Honouring the Waters of Life.
Honouring the Waters of the Earth.
Honouring the Waters of Woman.
Honouring the Waters of our blood.
