Come Closer

The earth says, “I will hold you, just come closer”
I will hold you, just come closer”
tears upon my altar
the morning’s cold I shiver
have courage now take shelter
spring is in the air is warming all is wakening
arms are opening wide
I turn to the earth and pray
‘may I always know what I came here for’
the forest calls,
my grandmothers once walked this ancient way
and I know in my bones I know this from before
I’m coming home, I know in my bones I know this from before
I’m coming home, I know in my bones I know this from before
what a precious gift, how could I turn away?
I’ll treasure all you teach me,
no matter what color or whatever the shade
I love this learning
remind me to trust when gone is my faith
for all is but fleeting
the wheel keeps on turning as long grows the days
I turn to the earth and pray…
when the bow is pulled taught is when the arrow springs forth x 2
I love this yearning, I love how it feels
do what you will with me, do what you will…
do what you will with me, do what you will
do what you will.
